Packard

Every thoroughbred car should be able to evoke a mood,
and there is no question in my mind what a Packard does! The gloriously
sculptured hood and radiator are just special and the entire robustness
of the car makes it seem bullet proof. I have no idea if real Chicago
gangsters actually drove Packards, but if they didn't they must have
been pretty poor at their job! Many glorious bodies were fitted to
Packard chassis but like so many luxury cars of the period, the company
got into the 'great cylinder race' culminating in the complex V16. For
my money though, I would choose the Super Eight which had performance,
balance and was actually much more of a driver's car.
