Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, 1925, Brewster Playboy
Roadster
In April 1921 the first US-built Rolls-Royce Silver
Ghost rolled off the production line in
Springfield/Massachusetts. There a factory had been
equipped following Rolls-Royce's 1920 announcement that
the 40/50 hp chassis would be produced in the U.S.A.
emphasizing that the same quality materials were to be
used and of course adequate standards of excellence with
which the name Rolls-Royce had become associated. Early
examples were completely identical to their British
counterparts, on later series vital modifications like
left hand drive and a centre change three speed gearbox
catered for American fashion and driving attitudes. 1703
Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts were built in the USA.
